About

A goblin in scavenged half-plate crouched low over a warg's shoulders, couching a hooked lance and screaming orders its mount ignores. Rider and beast share a rolling, tireless gait and a division of labor: the warg picks the victim, the goblin takes the credit.

The Warlord's outriders are the reason no messenger crosses the Marches twice. Goblins too vicious for the warrens earn a warg and a lance, then earn their keep running down stragglers and lancing through a caravan's rear guard before the escort can turn. The pennants on their lances are tally-flags — one strip of cloth per road taken.
