About
A figure of compacted salt and old silk, features rubbed smooth as a worn coin, moving with the unhurried grace of court etiquette. It gestures as it drifts — a bow here, a presented hand there — and each courtesy releases a hiss of stinging brine aimed with formal precision.
Deepcourt's courtiers were buried in salt to keep them presentable for a resurrection the Crown never delivered. The salt kept its half of the bargain. What walks the buried galleries now remembers precedence, protocol, and the order of address, and treats every intruder as a guest arriving unannounced — a discourtesy the court of a dead kingdom answers in kind.
