About
A blackened human figure cracked like overfired clay, embers glowing in the seams where joints used to be. It walks with the slow certainty of someone going home, and it burns anything that stands between it and a farmstead that no longer exists.
When the dragon crossed the western farmland, not everyone it burned had the grace to fall down. The charred thralls still walk the field rows of the Emberwaste in their hundreds — sowing nothing, harvesting nothing, gripping tools fused to their hands. The fire-cult calls them the First Congregation and follows them at a respectful distance, because a thrall always, eventually, walks to where the heat is worst.
